Where We Went
DDI is proud to give back to the community by shutting our doors four times a year to go out into the local community and give back. This quarter, we chose to give back and spend a Day of Service at the Westminster Neighborhood Services. This amazing ministry is located on the east side of Indianapolis off of E. New York Street.
What We Did
During our team Day of Service, we worked together as a team, alongside the staff of Westminster Neighborhood Services to sort various donations, organize different sections of the non-profit, help out in the pantry and clean the facility.
What They Do
At Westminster Neighborhood Services, we were able to get a direct look into each of their ministries and how they handle the work they face each and every day.
Their mission: Westminster Neighborhood Services, Inc. provides basic human necessities and educational opportunities to support and empower at-risk children and families on the near eastside of Indianapolis.
Their vision: In fulfillment of Christ’s call to bring hope to the people of God, Westminster Neighborhood Services, Inc. envisions a transformed community where generational poverty has been eradicated and all residents live in dignity and peace.
Their value: Believing in the value and worth of all people, no services will be denied based on faith tradition. Nor does WNS offer its services on the condition that people must listen and respond to messages designed to a particular faith.
Through their After School, Food Pantry, Summer Camp and Adult Education programs, they work tirelessly to fulfill their mission and vision.
