At DDI, we value our team. Not only do we show that we value our team through fun activities, but we also like to shine a spotlight on our employees and share why we love to have them as members of the DDI family. This month, we are excited to tell you about Areca.
Meet Areca
It is our great pleasure to introduce you to Areca Everage! Areca has been a valued member of our team for many years. Years ago, as Areca was trying to get back into software development, DDI had a software developer job opening. Before DDI, Areca spent a few years working in project management, but her heart and passion remained in software development. We are glad that the timing was perfect for Areca to join our team.
Today, Areca serves the DDI community as our Enterprise Software Business Analyst. As our Enterprise Software Business Analyst, Areca is responsible for data conversion, new client environment setup, software development, and requirements analysis.
Favorite Part about DDI
There are many things that Areca loves about DDI. However, Areca’s favorite thing is being a part of a team that really cares about the end result and how that will impact clients.
Greatest Accomplishment at DDI So Far
According to Areca, one of her greatest accomplishments took place at one of our User Group Meetings. At the User Group Meeting, some newer features of the software were being demonstrated for our clients. She was sitting at a table with fellow developers who hadn’t seen that feature before. Then, one developer leaned over to tell Areca that he thought it was really cool that she coded that particular feature. According to Areca, “It is nice to hear that kind of appreciation from a peer you respect.”
Likes
Some of the things that Areca likes include the first cup of coffee in the morning, watching her kids learn and explore the world, and sitting next to the fire pit.
Dislikes
Some of the things that Areca dislikes include feeling like she has so many things to do and when kids don’t turn in their homework (they did it, so why is it so hard to just turn it in?).
Inspiration
“Preach the Gospel at all times. And when necessary, use words.”
According to Areca, “This is a constant reminder that I need to be living what say. Teaching doesn’t work if I am not willing to live it as well. This is especially important for my kids. They absorb everything and remind me when I am not living up to my own standards.”
Thank you, Areca
Areca has played an integral role as a member of the DDI team. Her care, attention to detail, and drive to do her best work for our clients are just a few reasons why we love having her on the team. Thank you, Areca!
